Home Decor

Creativity flows at Mill Creek Mischief. Located in the Northern Neck of Virginia, a National Heritage Area, this workshop and classroom is all about furniture restoration, bringing new life to forgotten furniture with milk and chalk paint, home decor, and teaching you the tricks of the trade.

The Workshop

In the workshop, Joe Suplita does custom work and can also repair any piece of furniture you might have. Along with woodworking, his bag of tricks includes slip seats, lathe work – turning spindles, etc., welding, caning, veneer work, and more. He is also drawn to milk paint, giving furniture a distressed look.

Barbara Suplita, on the other hand, is drawn to chalk paint. In the workshop, she transforms discarded, forgotten furniture into stately or whimsical works of art.

The Classroom

Mill Creek Mischief offers small group classes, so that you will always get individual attention. Do you have a sad-looking piece of furniture that needs new life? Learn how to transform it at a workshop, and go home with new skills and a work of art.
